Special allocations made for flood victims

The government has made special allocations for flood-affected people of Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong and Bandarban districts to distribute food grains and cash assistance. On Sunday, the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry allocated 230 metric tonnes of rice and Tk1.7 million (17 lakh) for Cox’s Bazar, 150 metric tonnes of rice and Tk1 million (Tk10 lakh) for Bandarban and 50 metric tonnes of rice and Tk1 million (Tk10 lakh) for Chittagong to help the flood victims cope with flood impacts. About 100 metric tonnes of food grain and Tk0.2 million (Tk2 lakh) has been allocated for every district on reserve basis to carry out relief activities during any emergency, according to a handout.
