Special prayers offered at Baitul Mokarram for Mina tragedy victims

Thousands of devotees attended five Eid-ul-Azha Jamaats at Baitul Mokarram Mosque in Dhaka city on Friday where special prayers were offered for the devotees died in Mecca during Holy Hajj. Pesh imam of the Baitul Mokarram National Mosque Mufti Maulana Muhibbullahhil Baki Nadvi led the main Jamaat (congregation) at 8:00am. The second Jamaat began around 8:15am. It was conducted by the mosque pesh imam Mufti Maulana Ehsanul Haque while the third Jamaat was held at 8:45am. Quaderia Taiyeeba Kamil Madrasa Muhaddis Maulana Jasim Uddin Azhari led this Jamaat. The fourth prayers were held at 10:00am, followed by the fifth, which began at 11:00am. Islamic Foundation director Dr Maulana Muhammad Abdus Salam and deputy director Maulana Muhammad Abdur Rob Mia al-Baghdadi led the fourth and the fifth prayers respectively. They offered special prayers for peace, happiness and development of the country as well as Muslim Ummah. A Munajat (special prayers) was offered seeking peace of the departed souls of the devotees died in Hajj stampede in Mina Mountain, outside Mecca during Thursday’s Hajj rituals. Munajat was also offered seeking divine blessings of the Almighty Allah for peace in the whole world and also early recovery of Musallis injured in Mina Hajj stampede and those wounded in a crane crash in Saudi Arabia’s Holy city of Mecca in this Hajj season late last month (August).
