Spl court indicted Falu's wife for tax-evasion

A special court Wednesday indicted Mahbuba Sultana, wife of the detained former Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) lawmaker Mosaddek Ali Falu, in absentia for evading income tax worth Tk 63.2 million (6.32 crore), reports UNB.
After framing the charge, Judge M Firoze Alam fixed July 31 for commencing the trial with prosecution witnesses testifying.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) filed the case.
Meanwhile, detained former communications minister Nazmul Huda along with his wife Sigma Huda, facing graft cases, pleaded not guilty when another special court examined the couple under section 342 of the CrPC.
