Spl steamer service for Eid passengers

BARISAL, Dec 1 (UNB): Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) arranged an 11-day special steamer service in addition to normal service on Dhaka-Barisal-Khulna routes for the homebound passengers on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha.
Fare of BIWTC vessels would remain same as before. Of the fair, Tk 565 for one first class cabin seat, Tk 355 for one second class cabin seat and Tk 95 for each deck seat would be collected from passengers of Dhaka-Barisal route in single trip.
Khalid Newaz, assistant general manager of BIWTC Barisal station, said that the special steamer service would begin operation from December 4 and it will continue until December 15.
The registration for booking of first and second class passenger cabins of the steamers scheduled to ply on special service began Sunday.
PS Ostrich, PS Lepcha, PS Mashud, PS Turn and MV Shela will carry passengers on this route according to their respective schedules during the period.
One regular and one special steamer will start their journey from Dhaka in the evening on December 4, the sources added.
Besides, PS Ostrich will leave Barisal at 6.30 pm on December 4 for Khulna and special steamer PS Lepcha will leave Dhaka at 7 pm on the same evening for Hularhat via Barisal.
