People in the capital witnessed sporadic wind and very light rainfall on Monday, which brought them some respite for the time being.
People elsewhere in the country also saw such weather condition in the last few days, including the Eid day.
The country's highest temperature was recorded at 36.4 degrees Celsius in Bandarban on Monday, whereas in Dhaka it was recorded 35.1 degrees Celsius, according to the Bangladesh Meteorolo-gical Department (BMD).
On April 16, the capital recorded its highest temperature in decades, as the mercury soared to 40.5 degrees Celsius. On April 15, the Met Office recorded Dhaka's temperature at 40.4 degrees Celsius, which was the highest in 58 years.
Earlier, the temperature in the capital was 40.2 degrees Celsius on April 22, 2014, the highest in five decades.
Dhaka witnessed very light rainfall until Monday noon, Bazlur Rahman, a meteorologist at the BMD, told the FE. Rain may continue to occur in most parts of the country, including Dhaka, in the next few days until April 27.
Heat-wave is unlikely to occur in most parts of the country in the rest of this month, he added.
