Sports\\\' greatest show on earth kicks off in Sao Paulo tomorrow

Wednesday, 11 June 2014

The greatest show of sports - FIFA Football World Cup 2014- will kick off tomorrow (Thursday) at Corinthians Arena, Sao Paulo. Samba, traditional dance of Brazil, will dazzle the audience at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony will be as good as the World Cup itself, according to websites.
The "New Corinthians Stadium" in Sao Paulo has been chosen to host the opening ceremony which is promising to be one of the biggest showpiece curtain raisers in recent history.  Pitbull and local brazilian singer Claudia Leitte will perform the official FIFA World Cup song called "We Are One (Ole Ola)".
Before it was rumoured that Beyonce might perform at the opening ceremony but that has been denied by the Beyonce camp and now Jennifer Lopez has pulled out of the opening ceremony, which is supposed to last around 25 minutes and will feature many local celebrities from Brazil and other South American nations.
Around 80 hours of preparation and rehearse time have been consumed.
The official mascot of the FIFA 2014 World Cup, Fuleco the Armadillo, is seen on a float of Leandro de Itaquera samba school during the first night of the Special Group of the annual Carnival parade in Sao Paulo's Sambadrome February 28, 2014.
According to FIFA's official Web site, the official kick-off time is 3:15 pm (local time) (Bangladesh time 11:00pm) at the Arena de Sao Paolo on June 12.
Joana Havelange, who works as the executive director of operational planning and support ,said that no fireworks will be utilised since the ceremony will be held during the day. The event will chiefly focus on "dancers, sets, dance routines, fantasy sequences, and soundtrack."
In addition to the dancers, there will also be "acrobatic gymnasts, trampolinists, performers and stilt walkers," who all stepped up and offered to lend their talents for the big event.
Brazil's endless treasures will be represented by both performers and props throughout the show, with a "living" LED ball being the central focus-made up of a reported 90,000 light clusters.
More than 600 volunteers offered their services to make the Opening Ceremony every bit as thrilling as the football that follows, and they'll become a part of sporting history when they take centre stage.
Little over an hour afterwards, Brazil will take to the pitch to officially open the World Cup, with Croatia their Group A opponents.
