Police have arrested condemned war crimes convict BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury’s son Hummam Quader Chowdhury. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) spokesperson Muntasirul Islam said that he was arrested on Saturday in a case filed about 7 years ago over a skirmish at Gulshan in Dhaka city. “He was arrested from his Dhanmondi home around 10am in a case over a skirmish in 2008,” said the DMP deputy commissioner. Hummam Quader Chowdhury, whose father has been sentenced to death for committing crimes against humanity during Bangladesh’s independence struggles in 1971, was sent to prison after being produced before a Dhaka court, according to bdnews24.com.
