Square Textiles approves 25pc cash, 20pc stock dividends

Square Textiles Ltd approvedcash dividend at the rate of 25 per cent and stock dividend (bonus share) at the rate 20 per cent for its shareholders for the year 2007 at its 13th annual general meeting (AGM) held in the city Monday.
Square Textiles Chairman Samson H Chowdhury presided over the AGM.
Company directors Kazi Harunar Rashid, M Sekander Ali, Managing Director Tapan Chowdhury; Independent Director Samuel S Chowdhury, directors Anjan Chowdhury, Charles CR Patra and Kazi Iqbal Harun, Director (A&F) Md Kabir Reza, and Company Secretary Khandaker Habibuzzaman attended the meeting.
The company contributed an amount of Tk 80.32 million to the public exchequer. The company contributed substantially to the foreign exchange reserve of the country through its marketing operation during 2007. Foreign income amounted to Tk 920.65 million.
The board of directors appreciated the performance of the officers, staff and workers whose untiring efforts helped to optimise the profit of the company.
