A Dhaka court has sent to jail Senior Assistant Secretary Md Kamal Hossain in a case filed for allegedly becoming a BCS cadre by fraudulently using the freedom fighter (FF) quota, presenting his uncle as his father, reports BSS.
He is currently serving an officer on special duty at the Ministry of Public Administration.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order on Wednesday, cancelling his bail in the case.
The High Court on December 15, 2025, granted him four weeks' interim bail. He later surrendered before a lower court concerned and was granted bail on condition that he cooperate with the investigating officer and undergo a DNA test. However, the accused failed to comply with the order on two occasions.
ACC Deputy Assistant Director Md Manjurul Islam Mintu filed the case on December 26 last year, accusing Kamal of securing university admission, government employment and other benefits under the FF quota, falsely presenting his paternal uncle, FF Md Ahsan Habib, and aunt Mst Sanowara Khatun as his parents instead of his biological parents, Md Abul Kashem and Habia Khatun.
