Sri Lanka recovered to 117 for five in 32 overs chasing 205 for victory against Bangladesh in final group match of Asia Cup on Thursday. Captain Angelo Mathews (32) and Chaturanga de SIlva (24) revived the chase at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The sixth wicket stand, worth 42 runs so far, is slowly threatening to negate Tigers’ good work early on after the Sri Lanka suffered setback. Lahiru Thirimanne (33) was the last man out, caught brilliantly by Rubel Hossain who sprinted in from long-on to take a stunning catch off Arafat Sunny, sinking the Lankan Lions in deeper trouble. Saturday’s finalists had plunged to 8 for 3 in 2.1 overs when Mahela Jayawardene was run out for a duck due to a misunderstanding with Thirimanne, according to a news agency.
