Sri Lankan co to invest $10.624m in Ctg EPZ

A Sri Lankan company namely M/s Fergasam (Bangladesh) Ltd will set up a garments manufacturing industry in the Chittagong Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
The one hundred per cent foreign-owned company will invest about 10.624 million US dollars and will produce all types of high fashion woven and knit garments. The company will create an employment opportunity for 726 Bangladeshi and 10 foreign nationals.
An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the Fergasam (Bangladesh) Ltd at the BEPZA Complex in the city recently. Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Prashanta Bhushan Barua and Managing Director of Fergasam (Bangladesh) Ltd Abdul Sattar Anis signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Among others, Executive Chairman of BEPZA Brigadier General Ashraf Abdullah Yussuf, Member (Engineering) Md Farhad Uddin, General Manager (Investment Promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman, Manager (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain and Assistant Manager (Public Relations) Khadiza Parvin were also present on the occasion.
