Sri Lankan co to invest $10.67m in Karnaphuli EPZ

Naturub Accessories Bangladesh (Pvt) Limited, a Sri Lankan company, will invest US$ 10.67 million to expand its apparel accessories manufacturing industry in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (EPZ), reports BSS.
In this connection, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Naturub Accessories Bangladesh (Pvt) Limited at the BEPZA Complex in the city Thursday.
BEPZA member (investment promotion) Md Moyjuddin Ahmed and Naturub Accessories Managing Director Tissa Eleperuma signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Also present at the signing ceremony were BEPZA Executive Chairman Brig Gen Jamil Ahmed Khan, member (engineering) M Mahbub Ul Alam, member (finance) AKM Mahabubur Rahman, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi and General Manager (investment promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman.
The hundred per cent foreign owned company will produce apparel accessories items in the EPZ.
The company will also create employment opportunity for 600 Bangladeshi workers and 15 foreign nationals.
