Wednesday, 10 February 2010
COLOMBO: A government official says Sri Lanka's President has dissolved the country's parliament setting the stage for new elections. The official says President Mahinda Rajapaksa issued the order Tuesday. He spoke on condition of anonymity in line with government policy. The elections commissioner now needs to set a date for the vote. The decision comes a day after the military arrested Rajapaksa's main challenger in the country's presidential poll held last month. — AP
