SSC, equivalent exams begin tomorrow

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC), SSC Vocational and Dakhil examinations-2010 begin tomorrow (Thursday) throughout the country.
Some 1,206,019 candidates from 26,192 educational institutions will appear in the examinations in 2,044 centres under the ten education boards this year. Of them, 627,672 are male and 578,347 female.
Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) imposed a ban on movement of people, except examinees, within 200 yards of examination centres in the city during the exam hours.
Earlier, at a press briefing in his office last week, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid warned of stern actions against adoption of any unfair means in the examination halls.
