SSC exams from today
Friday, 6 February 2015
Shifted twice, the much-awaited SSC and equivalent examinations will finally begin today (Friday) amid tension and anxiety among the examinees and their guardians as countrywide blockade called by BNP and its allies is still in force, reports UNB.
The examinations were scheduled to begin on February 2 but it was deferred to February 4 due to 72-hour hartal enforced by BNP led alliance. But examinations were once again rescheduled as the alliance extended its hartal for another 36-hour.
In a press briefing on February 1, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said there will be no examination on the hartal day but examinations will be held in defiance of any blockade programme.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police and Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh separately said their respective forces will provide security in the examination centres and on the streets.
The examinations of Bengali 1st paper, Easy Bengali 1st paper and Bengali Language and Bangladeshi Culture 1st paper will be held on the first day.
