SSKOP allows govt two-week time

Sangbadik Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SSKOP), an apex body of the professionals working in print and electronic media, has urged the government to announce the sixth wage board award immediately.
The SSKOP will be bound to launch action programmes to realise their demands if the wage board award is not announced within the next two weeks.
It also warned that the journalist community would not accept any changes to the recommendations of the wage board.
The leaders of the SSKOP in a meeting August 9 reviewed the latest situation of the wage board.
Manzurul Ahsan Bulbul, co-convener of Oikya Parishad, presided over the meeting.
Though the wage board, comprising representatives of government, owners, journalists and employees, submitted their recommendations to the government but neither the immediate past government nor the present caretaker government has announced the wage board award yet.
