St. Petersburg State University confers honourary doctorate on PM

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, Nov 24 (BSS): The St. Petersburg State University, one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Russia, conferred today honourary doctorate degree upon Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her outstanding contribution towards the international humanitarian development.
"This gracious gesture of the prestigious university is a rare honour for Bangladesh and its 160 million people," the Bangladesh Premier said while receiving the certificate of the honourary doctorate degree from Rector of the university Nikolai M Kropachev amid applauses from the audience.
"It would reinforce my resolve and determination to serve my country and people in the same way as my father had done. Indeed, this is a day which I shall cherish very fondly forever," she said.
