A large portion of Moulvibazar Stadium’s boundary has been demolished for the wedding of Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali’s daughter. More than 20 feet of the north wall between the stadium and Bangladesh Water Development Board’s office in Moulvibazar town was razed to ensure cars of the guests have easy access to the premises where Social Welfare Minister Ali’s 2nd daughter Syeda Sanjida Sharmin will be married off to Mosharraf Patwari, son of Ibrahim Patwari from Lakhsmipur’s Srirampur village today (Thursday). Meanwhile, speaking at a views exchange meeting at Moulvibazar Circuit House on Wednesday, a day before the wedding, Ali, who hogged headlines earlier for smoking in public places and sleeping through a programme of the Awami League, urged journalists to assist in making the wedding ceremony a success. Five canopies have been erected on the field, a visit to the stadium showed. One has been thrown up for the groom’s relatives and guests, one for the bride and women, another for guests coming in from seven Upazilas, one more for guests from minority communities and another is assigned for guests miscellaneous. Sand has been poured on the muddy, north part of the field. Some 22 feet of the west wall next to the stadium’s north exit is gone, according to bdnews24.com.
