Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Saturday demanded of the government to start trial for all sorts of human rights violation including war crimes, reports BSS.
"We urge the government to make the Human Rights Commission effective and start trial for all sorts of human rights violation including the war crimes," members of the TIB said while addressing its annual general meeting at a city hotel.
They called upon all concerned, including the government, political leaders and civil society, to make the anti-corruption activities more effective as well as lasting to root out corruption from the country for ever.
They also hoped that the ACC would play an effective role in curbing corruption as an independent and efficient organisation.
TIB Member Professor Mamtaz Begum chaired the meeting where Secretary General of the organisation Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed and trustee member and journalist Mahfuz Anam were present.
The TIB members praised the government for enacting the Right to Information Act and called upon all concerned, including the government, to take initiatives for implementing the Act.
