Stay in posted rural stations or lose job: PM to doctors, teachers

Wednesday, 2 April 2014

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday sounded a strong warning to those government doctors and teachers who do not stay in their posted rural stations, saying they would lose their jobs, according to a news agency.
“Surely we’ll take stern action if they don’t stay in their posted rural areas. They don’t need to be in the service,” she said, in reply to a supplementary question of M Nazrul Islam Chowdhury (Chittagong-14) during the PM’s question-answer session in Parliament.
Hasina said it is a normal practice in the country that doctors and teachers after they get government appointment and are posted in rural areas rarely stay in their posted stations.
The Prime Minister said those government service holders who do not stay in their posted stations should be sacked from their job and the government would give new appointments.
