Stay in your rural stations or lose job: PM
Wednesday, 2 April 2014
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday sounded a strong warning to those government doctors and teachers who do not stay in their posted rural stations, saying they would lose their jobs. “Surely we’ll take stern action if they don’t stay in their posted rural areas. They don’t need to be in the service,” she said, in reply to a supplementary question of M Nazrul Islam Chowdhury (Chittagong-14) during the PM’s question-answer session in Parliament. Hasina said it is a normal practice in the country that doctors and teachers after they get government appointment and are posted in rural areas rarely stay in their posted stations, according to a news agency.
