Staying safe while travelling
Friday, 1 July 2022
It was reported that people faced less hassle in a rush to travel home and come back during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays couple of months ago. But road accidents marred that Eid since a total of 416 travellers had reportedly died in 372 road accidents across the country.
With Eid-ul-Azha just around the corner, there will soon be another rush of homebound people. The authorities concerned definitely need to intervene more strictly and ensure safe Eid journeys for them. We must find the root causes for the accidents and eliminate them. And at the same time, the commuters too must do what they are supposed to and act responsibly. Road crash has cost countless lives, and will continue to do so unless strict measures are taken.
