Steel millers decry hike in gas prices

Increase in gas price would ultimately push up the prices of local goods which would make way for imported products' entry into the domestic market, industry leaders said.
They urged the government to withhold the decision in a bid to safeguard the local business interest as well as the domestic industries.
BSMOA Chairman Sheikh Fazlur Rahman Bakul presided over the meeting. Senior Vice Chairman of BRMA Mohammad Ali, General Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique and BSMOA adviser Mizanur Rahman Babul were also present on the occasion.
