Steps against 4 Khulna industries slated

KHULNA, Oct 24: Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Khulna is going to take legal action against four organisations for violating BSCIC rules and doing unauthorised business. The organisations are -- Madina Food Industries, ARA Food Industries, Khulna Concrete Pipe Industries and Quality Food Product.
Madina Food Industries is established on 15000 square feet land and plot no. A-17 in 2004, ARA Food Industries on 9000 square feet in 2001at plot no. B-7, Quality Food Product on 15000 square feet at plot no. A-16 and Khulna Concrete Pipe Industries on 18000 square feet at plot no C-91-94 at Shiromoni, BSCIC industrial area of the city.
BSCIC official Shirajul Islam Khan said the above four organisations had been producing their commodities approved by the BSCIC. But those organisations started illegal stocking of jute and tobacco in their establishments for last one year. He said Madina Food Industries, ARA Food Industries stockpiled jute and tobacco instead of producing their permitted food items and Khulna Concrete Pipe Industries and Quality Food Product also stockpiled raw jute in their organisations in violation of BSCIC rule.
BSCIC Khulna General Manager Munir Hossain Daria said as jute is inflammable, it can catch fire and destroy huge properties in this area. He also said legal action will be taken and those industries closed.
