JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Jan 12 (BSS): Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have adopted tough measures to restore peaceful academic atmosphere on the campus and prevent all kinds of violence.
Narrating the measures in an exclusive interview with the news agency Thursday, JU vice chancellor (VC) Prof Shariff Enamul Kabir said, "We have expelled three students from the university permanently as they were involved in the killing of Zubayer, a fourth year student of JU English department."
The VC said a five-member probe body headed by JU Pro VC (administration) Prof Mohammad Farhad Hossain, has been formed to investigate the murder. The committee was asked to submit its report as soon as possible, he said.
"We are giving punishment to the perpetrators on the basis of the committee's primary report and available information," he added.
