Steps to curb extortion over cattle transportation

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the law enforcers would keep strong vigil to curb extortion from cattle head carrying transports ahead of holy Eid-ul- Azha. The Home Minister told journalists after speaking at a gathering of eminent citizens in Lohagara Upazila in Chittagong. Referring to shortage of police manpower Kamal disclosed that 50 thousand police men would be appointed and from them additional police forces will be appointed in Chittagong. Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mezbah Uddin presided over the programme while Dr Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin Nodovi, MP, Nazrul Islam, MP, Deputy Inspector General of Police Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, Police Superintendent Hafiz Akter among others addressed the programme, according to a news agency.
