Stock trading to continue on weekend ahead of Eid holidays
FE REPORT | Tuesday, 19 May 2026
Trading on the country’s stock exchanges will continue on Saturday and Sunday (May 23 and May 24), in line with a government directive regarding revised office schedules ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange announced the decision on Monday, saying trading and office activities during the two days will be conducted as per the usual office and trading hours.
Currently, stock trading begins at 10:00 am and continues until 2:00 pm, including a 10-minute post-closing session.
As per the decision, trading and official activities on the bourses will remain closed from May 25 to May 31 due to the Eid holidays.
Regular office and trading activities will resume on Monday (June 1).
The revised schedule comes as government offices and financial institutions across the country adjust their operational calendars surrounding the Eid holidays to ensure uninterrupted economic and administrative activities ahead of the long vacation.
