Stocks close mixed on DSE

Stock prices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Wednesday closed mixed due to profit taking by the investors.
Market operators said most DSE indices fell after investors booked profit from gains made during a market rally over the past several sessions.
On the day DSE - 20 Index (DS20) and DSE General Index (DGEN) declined 26.796 points and 17.275 points to close at 2181.096 and 2856.510 respectively.
But All Shares Price Index (DSI) gained marginally 1.468 points to close at 2427.814 Wednesday.
The total turnover declined to Tk 2.216 billion from its previous Tk 2.861 billion. The total market capitalisation also dropped to Tk 688.116 billion from its previous Tk 687.447 billion.
Out of 223 traded issues, 100 gained, 105 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
Trust Bank maintained its position as the turnover leader with Tk 163.094 million followed by Desco Tk 145.197 million, Social Investment Bank Tk 118.061 million, BRAC Bank Tk 115.420 million, Grameen One Mutual Fund Tk 91.715 million, Summit Power Tk 69.193 million, Rupali Bank Tk 61.246 million, AB Bank Tk 57.356 million, Beximco Pharma Tk 52.419 million and AIMS Mutual Fund Tk 51.817 million.
Prices of Trust Bank declined by 2.09 per cent to Tk 1130.75, BRAC Bank 1.17 per cent to Tk 1507.75, AB Bank 2.37 per cent to Tk 3022.00 and Beximco Pharma 2.15 per cent to Tk 63.60.
Desco gained 8.12 per cent to Tk 1327.25, Social Investment Bank 17.70 per cent to Tk 425.50, Grameen One 5.49 per cent to Tk 78.70, Summit Power 2.18 per cent to Tk 1569.25, Rupali Bank 6.64 per cent to Tk 2895.25 and AIMS 3.12 per cent to Tk 8.57.
