Stocks stumble at start

The prices of most of the shares at the country’s twin-bourse – the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed downward trend in early hours of trading on Monday, the second session of the week. DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, shed 20.61 points or 0.38 per cent to stand at 5313.41 points when the report was field at 11:10am. Of the issues traded till then, 112 gained, 120 declined and 35 remained unchanged. The port city bourse also saw negative trend in the morning. CSE’s key index, CSCX lost 19.59 points to stand at 9975.72, also at 11:10am. Of the issues traded till then, 51 advanced, 76 declined and 21 remained unchanged.
