Stop cheating in exam halls -

The performance in an examination may not be the true reflection of a student's ability. But it is the closest indicator to evaluate him/her. It also measures competence in a particular topic, and helps predict one's future success. Therefore, we can say that a credible examination can play a significant role in any education system. However, cheating in exams has also been common in our society for a long time.
Malpractice in examination halls undermines education. Such practices also breed dishonesty, self-deception, and fraudulent behaviours in society. It is believed that the race for obtaining high grades, family pressure, and fear of failure are some of the factors that compel many a student to resort to cheating.
If we want to save our youngsters from this malpractice, we must bring them up in a way so that they can understand that their grades matter less. What matters is their skills. Besides, the authorities concerned should also focus on strengthening surveillance in exam halls in order to root out cheating.
