Storm damages maize crops in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, May 3: A seasonal storm damaged some maize crops recently in the district. Just when the farmers of the district were expecting a good harvest of their crop then the storm has shattered their dream. Joypurhat DAE office sources said this year maize cultivation target has not been achieved. Only 540 hectares of land have been cultivated against the target of 1,143 hactares through the growth of this crop this year is better than the previous year. Some of the maize fields were fully damaged and some half damaged by the recent storm.
