Storm leaves 1 dead in Rajshahi

Storm has left a septuagenarian man dead and several other people injured at different villages in different upazilas of Rajshahi district. Abu Taher, 75, was killed when a tree collapsed on him during a nor’wester that swept Rajshahi city and its adjoining areas from Thursday night to early Friday. Abu Taher is a resident of Tikipara under Boalia thana in Rajshahi city. Police, quoting witnesses, said a tree collapsed on Abu Taher when the storm ravaged Tikipara at night, leaving him dead on the spot. Besides, an unspecified number of people were injured in Rajshahi city and its adjoining areas during the storm, according to a news agency.
