Stranded Bangladeshis to be repatriated within 1 month

Noting that 738 Bangladesh nationals were rescued from Malaysian waters in recent days, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali has said the stranded Bangladeshis will be brought back within the next month. "Steps will be taken to bring back the identified Bangladesh nationals who remain stranded abroad within the next one month," he said. The foreign minister said the incidence of human trafficking through the Indian Ocean has risen alarmingly in recent times. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry and the Home Affairs Ministry and concerned missions abroad are working jointly to bring back Bangladeshi citizens stranded abroad, he said on Tuesday, according to a news agency, according to a news agency.
