Strategic plan to make N-region economically solvent stressed

RAJSHAHI, Aug 10 (BSS): Speakers at a discussion underscored the need for long, medium and short term strategies to make the northern region economically solvent.
In this context, they urged the government to take up steps for proper planning, particularly on trade and business, with focus on rapid industrialiation in the region.
The speakers also called for giving priority on the steady development of the potential sectors, especially silk, tourism and fresh vegetable and fruits, in the region side by side with creating scopes for employment.
Ministry of Commerce under its 'Bangladesh Trade Support Programme (BTSP)' arranged the discussion at the conference hall of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
