Stress on Gandhi's ideology for violence-free society

Exercise of Mahatma Gandhi's ideology can play a vital role in establishing a violence-free society at the present backdrop of the world, former chief justice Md Habibur Rahman said.
He was addressing a seminar on 'peace, non-violence and democracy' at Dhaka University (DU) Senate Bhaban Saturday as chief guest.
The Department of Peace and Conflict of DU and the Indian High Commission in Dhaka jointly organised the seminar marking the International Day of Non-Violence.
Indian High Commissioner Rajett Mitter, National Prof Kabir Chowdhury and Indian Council of Gandhi Studies Chairman Prof N Radha Krishna also spoke at the seminar with DU Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Sidddique in the chair.
Meanwhile, BSS from Noakhali adds: The 141st birth anniversary of India's Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was observed Saturday.
To mark the day, 'Noakhali Gandhi Ashram Trust' organised a discussion at Ashram auditorium with Noakhali Gandhi Ashram Trust Director Naba Kumar Raha in the chair.
Speakers at the discussion urged the people to follow Gandhi's non-violence principles.
