Strike in eight Khulna jute-mills

KHULNA, Jun 8 (UNB): State-owned Jute Mills CBA and non-CBA Oikya Parishad  enforced a 24-hour strike at eight state-run jute-mills in Khulna division to press home their six-point demand.
The strike that began from 6:00 am on Monday will continue until 6:00 am on Tuesday.
Earlier, on Sunday, the workers of the jute mills, including Crescent Jute Mills, Platinum Jute-Mills, Khalispur Jute Mills, Star Jute Mills, Alim Jute Mills, Eastern Jute Mills, Jessore Jute Mills and Carpeting Jute Mills, staged demonstrations on the mill premises in favour of their demands.
