Strong demand continues for clean liquoring tea

Strong demand continued for good and clean liquoring tea while plain poor tea were neglected at  the weekly tea auction on Tuesday. As a result, withdrawals were heavier. Blenders were active with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.
Dusts were an easier market following less competition, a National Brokers Limited press release said.
CTC LEAF: 32,447 packages and 138 packages of old season tea on offer met with a good demand.
BROKENS: Well made good liquoring Brokens were a strong feature and were a little dearer following competition. Mediums were steady while the plainest met with only a fair demand and there were heavy withdrawals particularly for the poorest types.
FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings were strongly competed for and were fully firm to dearer and the best could be quoted between Tk 205 and Tk 210. Good and Medium varieties maintained their levels while plainer types were easier with several withdrawals. Poorest types were neglected.
CTC DUST: 5,674 packages of tea on offer met with a good demand but at easier rates. Better liquoring RDs/Ds were easier by Tk 5 and sometimes more while all others including CDs eased by Tk 10 to Tk 15. Blenders lent good support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.
