Strong demand for Blenders

Friday, 18 June 2010

A very strong demand prevailed throughout the sale with Blenders strongly competing for all varieties. As a result, prices moved up sharply. Loose tea buyers lent useful support but were often out-priced. There was no export enquiry.
CTL LEAF: 16,677 packages and 590 packages of Old Season on offer met with an excellent demand at substantially higher rates.
BROKENS: All Brokens met with a strong market and advanced by Tk 20 to Tk 30 and at times more particularly the smaller types. The best liquoring types were sold between Tk 225 and Tk 232.
FANNINGS: All Fannings had also a very strong market and prices generally moved up by upto Tk 30 and more. The best could be quoted between Tk 225 and Tk 235.
CTC DUST: 3,782 and 10 packages of Old Season on offer met with a strong demand. All grades were dearer by Tk 5 in line with quality. CDs were also sold well and were fully firm to slightly dearer following competition. Blenders lent strong support with fairly good interest from the Loose tea buyers.
Dusts again met with more competition at dearer rates.
