Strong demand for good liquoring Dusts

Thursday, 28 June 2007

FE Report
There was generally a better tone in the week's sale with Pakistan buyers being a little more forceful for well made good liquoring teas. Internal buyers especially Blenders operated strongly whilst there was a fairly good support from the Loose tea market. Good liquoring Dusts were a strong feature.
CTC LEAF: 19,943 packages and (1,379 packages of Old Season) on offer continued to meet with a good demand.
BROKENS: A handful of black, well made invoices were strongly competed for and appreciated by Tk 2.00 to Tk 3.00 and these could be quoted between Tk 93 and Tk 98. Medium varieties were generally a firm market. Plainer types were often easier following quality.
FANNINGS: Well made, good liquoring Fannings were quite a good market and were generally easier realising prices between Tk 88 and Tk 93. Medium varieties were generally easier by Tk 2.00 to Tk 4.00. Plainer types also followed a similar trend.
CTC DUST: 3,805 packages and (306 packages of Old Season) on offer met with a good demand particularly the better liquoring types which met with a fairly strong competition and were often dearer by Tk 2.00 to Tk 5.00. Medium varieties were generally firm whilst the plainer sorts eased by Tk 5.00. Blenders and Packeteers lent quite a useful support along with the buyers for the Loose tea market.
