Strong demand for good liquoring varieties

Thursday, 22 October 2009

There was a strong demand in the past week for good liquoring varieties but the poorer types were easier with some withdrawals.
Blenders were more active with fair interest from the loose tea buyers. Pakistan buyers were fairly active. Dusts had slightly easier markets.
Ctc leaf: 27,489 packages on offer met with a good demand with buyers closely following quality.
Brokens: Well-made good liquoring brokens had strong demand and mostly sold at dearer rates often by Tk 1.00 to Tk 2.00 and these could be quoted between Tk 140.00 to Tk 143.00. The remainder also witnessed a better demand but was firm. Plain and poor liquoring types eased further with fair withdrawals.
Fannings: Well-made good liquoring fannings had a stronger market and fully firm to dearer often by Tk l.00 to Tk 2.00 and these could be quoted between Tk 141.00 and Tk 144.00. Other varieties had also generally a strong market. Plainest ones had an irregular market following quality.
Ctc dust: 4,014 packages on offer continued to meet with less demand at mostly easier rates. Good liquoring varieties sold around last levels easing slightly while all others had an easier market in line with quality. Blenders lent quite good support with fair interest from the loose tea buyers.
