Strong demand from tea buyers

Thursday, 30 July 2015

Last week's sale market, which met after an interval of Eid holidays, experienced strong demand from the buyers. The market price was in favour of the sellers, said a press release.
Blenders lent strong support as there was some enquiry from the Internal Loose tea buyers. Dusts were an easier market.
CTC LEAF: 25,686 packages and 41 packages of Old Season Teas were on offer. After a hesitant start, there was a strong demand at fully firm to occasionally dearer rates.
BROKENS: Good Brokens met with strong demand and were fully firm to often dearer and these could be quoted between Tk 199 and Tk 204. Other varieties were a firm feature whilst plainer types were often a dearer feature.
FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings were strongly competed for and were mostly dearer often by Tk 1.0 to Tk 2.0. These could be quoted between Tk 198 and Tk 201. Medium and plainer varieties were also met with a firm market.
CTC DUST: 6,310 packages and two packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with a good demand at easier rates. All good liquoring varieties once again met with a good demand and were firm to slightly easier. All others also sold well but eased by Tk 5.0 to Tk 10 in line with quality. Blenders lent good support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.
