Student hurt in rival’s attack dies in Sylhet

SYLHET, Feb 14 (UNB): A college student who suffered injuries in an attack by his rivals at Chhikka village in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj district on Monday died at a private clinic in the city early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Kaisar Nur (22), a student of Jagannathpur Degree College and son of Asad Miah of Habibpur Ashighor village of the upazila.
Quoting locals, police said Kaisar went out of the house after receiving a phone call of Anhar Miah of Chhikka village on Monday.
Later, Anhar and his associates stabbed Kaiser with sharp weapons indiscriminately in the area, leaving him critically injured.
Kaisar was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Later, he was later shifted to a private clinic in Sylhet where he succumbed to his injuries at about 12:30 am.
A case was filed in this connection.
