Students burst into protest over sexual abuse

Demand withdrawal of teacher Naadir Junaid

DU students of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department staged a protest on the campus on Sunday against a 'sexual harassment' incident.
The protesters went on a march on the department premises and Aparajeya Bangla premises. They also staged a sit-in and chanted slogans with placards in their hands.
They demanded a fair investigation into the sexual abuse and withdrawal of their teacher Dr Naadir Junaid from all activities of the academy.
"We won't return to class and sit for examinations until our demands are met," many a protester said.
Prof Dr Abul Mansur Ahmed, chairman of the department, said students have given me a memorandum after giving a written complaint to the proctor.
We already had a meeting with the vice-chancellor at his office. The VC assured the protesting students that a decision would be taken soon.
The victim already gave a written complaint to the vice-chancellor.
ASM Maksud Kamal assured that action will be taken as per the rules of the university.
