Students chase DU Prof Jamal off campus

AKM Jamal Uddin, a professor of Sociology Department at Dhaka University (DU) and a teacher aligned with Neel Dal backed by Awami League (AL), has fled the campus after being chased by a group of students.
Pro-AL teacher Prof Zinat Huda also accompanied him at that time.
The incident occurred around 1:00 pm on Thursday, when the two teachers were leaving the department.
According to students, they gathered in front of the Social Sciences Faculty building after being informed that Prof Jamal and several other teachers had arrived for a meeting. Moments later, a group led by DUCSU Social Welfare Secretary AB Zubayer then rushed toward them, prompting the teachers to flee.
A video circulating on social media shows Zubayer grabbing Prof Jamal's clothing on the department staircase, in an attempt to stop him. Prof Jamal removed his hoodie to escape and as Zubayer continued to chase him, he ran down the stairs.
At one point, Prof Jamal managed to get into his car. Zubayer was seen pulling at the door, apparently trying to keep him from driving away.
Later, in a Facebook post, Zubayer wrote that Prof Jamal, Prof Zinat Huda, and three other teachers, who are supporters of fascism, had come to campus for a secret meeting.
He said, "Students of the department have already boycotted their classes and exams. Even then, how do they dare enter the campus? The administration must be more active. There can be no coexistence with killers. They must all be brought to justice immediately."
The identities of the other three teachers mentioned in the post could not be confirmed.
Speaking about the incident, DU Proctor Prof. Saifuddin Ahmed said, "I was not on campus at the time. Earlier, when Prof Jamal visited campus, students of the Sociology Department protested. We had assured the students that he would not return. We also advised Prof Jamal not to come. Despite that, he came again."
