Students discharging traffic control duty on Rajshahi roads

RAJSHAHI, Aug 08 (BSS): The students in general are seen discharging duties as traffic police in most of the important points and crossings of the roads and highways in the city aimed at restoring disciplines.
At different locations, particularly, bus terminal, Alupatty, Saheb Bazar Zero Point, Sonadighi crossing, Laxmipur, railway gate and Barnali crossing, the students were seen discharging duties to free the areas from traffic congestions.
Apart from the leaders and workers of the anti-disparity students' movement, general students, rover scout members of different schools and colleges, members of Nirapad Sarak Chai and Red Crescent Society discharged their duties making the people happy.
Side by side with restoring discipline in the roads, they are seen cleaning and removing debris and garbage and guarding key point installations delighting the public in general.
Talking to the news agency here this afternoon, Raihan Haque, a pedestrian at Shaheb Bazar area, said the new generation has brought a new identity to the people and shown a new dream to the nation. He hoped that the young generation would decorate the country beautifully.
Shirin Sultana, who was marketing at RDA Market, said the benevolent works of restoring discipline on roads and highway and cleaning footpaths and ways are very laudable.
Walid Hassan, an HSC examinee and scout member from Shaheed Buddhijibi College, was seen working as traffic management at the Zero Point with loudspeaker in hand. He said he's very much proud of doing the work voluntarily.
He also said they are committed and devoted to overcome the national crises collectively.
