Students, youths, juvenile urged to say

Adviser for Primary and Mass Education Rasheda K Chowdhury Monday urged all students, youths and juvenile to take a vow to say no to drug, reports BSS.

Rasheda K Chowdhury made the appeal while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a day-long fair on the occasion of arrival of 'Esho Bangladesh Gorhi' Road Show at the city's Kamalapur stadium.

The Road Show caravan returned to the capital Sunday after crisscrossing the country for one and a half months.

Speaking on the occasion, Rasheda K Chowdhury said: "The students have to acquire real education and apply it for the welfare of people as well as building a corruption and drug free Bangladesh."

Referring to the launching of the Road Show for building resistance against corruption and terrorism, She said: "What we could not accomplish, the new generation have to do it in future."

With deputy commissioner (DC) of Dhaka Kamal Uddin Ahmed in the chair, the inaugural function was also addressed by director general of Seed Wing under the Ministry of Agriculture Anwar Farooq.

The adviser called upon the patriotic people to encourage the general people to elect honest and efficient candidates in the next general polls.

The DC called upon the new generation to work with a strong commitment to build a stable and prosperous Bangladesh.

A total of eight agriculture stalls have been set up in the fair at Kamalapur stadium.

Besides, a cultural show was also held on the occasion where artistes of the country rendered songs noted. A fair will also be held on Uttara High School ground today (Tuesday) on the occasion of Road Show.

The Road Show began with a view to creating awareness about checking corruption, building a terrorism-free country, changing food habit, enhancing food production, establishing honest and efficient leadership, expansion of information technology and above all building a prosperous Bangladesh.

The Road Show was inaugurated at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the city on May 30 last.
