Sub-inspector of police kills self by his own gun

A sub-inspector of police allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his own gun in Manirampur upazila of Jessore district on Saturday. Khabir Uddin Ahmed, 55, officer-in-charge of Manirampur Police Station, said Khan Ali Akbar of Monirampur Police Station shot himself with his official pistol around 4:15am. He died on the spot. Hearing the sounds of firing, Akbar’s colleagues rushed in and found his body lying on the rooftop of the police station. Akbar killed himself following a family feud, said the OC. Hailing from Lohagara upazila at Narail district, Akbar had been working in Monirampur Police Station as a sub-inspector for a few years, according to a news agency.
