Success comes from willpower and tenacious work

M A Islam
WHEN I was a student of class seven, my class teacher often said to us in the class: "Toder ichcha nai, agroho nai, ki jey hobey toderkey diey" (you do not have will power, you do not have interest-don't know what will happen to you). We were very much used to hearing this everyday in the very first class of the day. We started feeling bored at this repeated remark of our teacher.
At that age of 12, I understood very little what he meant. Now that I am no more a student rather a professional, I realise how important and significant his words are.
In reality, we can never succeed in any of our mission if we do not have strong willpower, interest and vital force for taking the task in hand, be it studies or be it anything that has to do with our profession.
Nothing comes without wish. That is why probably the wise people say, "Make your wish list today. Write down at least 100 wishes that you want to fulfill in your life. When you implement one wish, give a tick sign on it and try to fulfill another wish."
Humans are born with immense potentials. Everyone of us has the scope to explore ourselves. Why not utilise that? We can be multilinguistic like Dr. Shahidullah, can be innovative like Rights brothers, can be poet like Nazrul, can be rich like Bill Gates.
Shahidullah-Rights Brothers-Nazrul-Bill Gates- all were humans like us. If they could go that far in their lives, why not we? All we need to do first is 'wish' and later act accordingly. If we can have courage and will and stick to it despite our all obstacles, we must succeed one day.
And definitely success begets success. If we can divide our journey to success in several steps, we will see success in one step will inspire and motivate us to go to the next step.
In making wish, we must be confident about life. If people on this earth can have typing speed 90 (in English), why not me? If people can achieve first class marks in the examination, why should I lag behind? I must explore the secrets of others' success and should try so that I can be successful like them.
In our childhood, we usually have more willpower and interest. The more we grow old, the more willpower and interest we lose. This mainly happens for the continuous negative remarks we hear from the people surrounding us. We must neglect others' negative opinions. We must have interaction with those who are highly optimist about life. We can also bring back our childhood spirit in us. We can try to remember what we wanted to do in life when we were passing childhood. While doing so, we will definitely find some 'wishes' which are still relevant and meaningful to us. We can try to fulfill them.
Obviously, without willpower and interest for doing something, our life will become dull, and success will come very slowly.
