Sugar production target 0.173m tonnes

Crushing of sugarcane in the country starts from October 24 with a target of producing 1,73,100 tonnes of sugar during the current season. A total of 15 sugar mills of the country has targeted to crush 22,72,000 tonnes of sugarcanes during the season. The Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) sources said, the rate of collection of sugar from sugarcane has been fixed at 7.62 per cent. North Bengal Sugar Mill will start crushing of sugarcane with a target of producing 18,867 tonnes of sugar. — BSS
