Sugarcane crushing begins at Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, Dec 14 (BSS): Sugarcane crushing began at Joypurhat Sugar Mills (JSM) recently through a simple opening ceremony and milad mahfil.
Workers and sugarcane farmers inaugurated the crushing of sugarcane at the mills.
Managing Director (MD) of JSM Abdus Salam presided over the crushing ceremony and said the production target was fixed at 7,975 tonnes of sugar in the current fiscal year.
MD Abdus Salam urged the farmers to grow more sugarcane and the factory workers to help run their units properly.
The function was addressed, among others, by Administrator of Zilla Parishad SM Solyman Ali, Upazila Chairman Fazlur Rahman, UNO Munira Sultana and president of workers union Khorshed Alom.
